Apolonio "Chato" Pena Flores

Apolonio “Chato”  Pena Flores, 73, of Genoa City, WI, passed away on Friday, February 14, 2025, at Northwestern Medicine in McHenry, IL.

Apolonio was born February 10, 1952 in Mexico to Elena and Cipriano Pena.  He married Marie L. Norton on August 4, 1979 in Woodstock, IL.

He did woodworking and was the local scrap metal guy. 

Survivors include his wife Marie, children Zennith Dawn Vermett, Gabriela (Armando Paul Rodriguez) Pena, Rob (Tanya) Vermett, Dawn (Chris Swikowski) Brohammer, and Jose Pena, 11 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, siblings Angelo Pena, Lupe Pena Flores, Guillemina Pena, Miguel Ramirez, and Cruz Murillo, and many nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his parents Elena and Cipriano Pena, his brother Antonio Pena, and sister Christina Pena.

There will be a visitation from 4 – 8 PM Friday, February 21, 2025, at Saunders & McFarlin Funeral Home, 107 W. Sumner St., Harvard, IL 60033.  During the visitation, there will be a short service.
