March 20, 1982 ~ September 24, 2022 (age 40) 40 Years Old

Obituary

Antonio M. “Tony” Figueroa, 40, of Rockford, Illinois, passed away on Saturday, September 24, 2022. Tony was born on March 20, 1982, in Woodstock, Illinois, the Son of Julian and Elizabeth (North) Figueroa.

Tony valued family over everything and was always there to lend a helping hand. Spending time with his family was always a priority, especially when it came to his kids’ sports. He would never miss a game or match and even a blizzard wouldn’t keep him from a wrestling tournament. He could spend all day talking about his kids, family, and friends; his pride for the ones he loved was unmatched. Nightly games and huge family events were always something he was a part of, the intensity of “spoons” could never be described. He would never back down from a challenge and had the biggest competitive spirit. His “over-the-top” sense of humor would have any room full of laughter. He loved to tease, joke around, and always knew exactly what buttons to press, but everyone knew it was always out of love. One of Tony’s favorite things to do was have dinner with his family and we know that if there’s a B-Dubs in Heaven, he would find it. Tony always had the biggest ambitions and wanted to give his family the world. His personality touched a lot of people in many different ways, and he will be dearly missed.

Tony is survived by his wife Leydi Hernandez; his children Tony Figueroa Jr., Andrew Krzesinski, Natalyia Figueroa, Gianna Figueroa; his mother Elizabeth North, his siblings Veronica (Lazaro Vazquez) Figueroa, Sergio (Bridget Nutley) Figueroa, Charessa (Javier Borrego) Johnstone, and Tremmen Johnstone; nieces and nephews Ivaan Figueroa, Alexia Figueroa, Analyse Figueroa, Aidan Figueroa, Aslan Figueroa, Azariah Figueroa, Freddy Roberts, Frankie Mahamuth, Dustin Johnstone, Ashley Johnstone, and Jasmine Borrego; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Tony is preceded in death by his son Thomas J. Figueroa, his father Julian A. Figueroa, his uncle Jose G. Figueroa, and his cousin Ulises Rojas-Figueroa.
