Ann K. Nolen of Harvard, IL, passed away at the age of 81, surrounded by her loving family on
August 8, 2025. She was born July 25, 1944 to Clarence and Janice (Dwyer) Haverly in Elgin,
IL. She married the love of her life Jim “Shawnee” Nolen on October 2, 1965 at St. Joseph’s
Catholic Church in Harvard.
Ann attended St. Joseph Catholic School and graduated from Marian Central Catholic High
School, Class of 1963. She worked as a bank teller for numerous years in Harvard. Ann was also
a member of the Harvard Moose Lodge. She loved all things Irish, traveling to see family and
friends and cheering on the St. Louis Cardinals. She enjoyed watching her children grow up in
the Harvard community and watching them play high school and college sports. Later, she also
enjoyed watching them coach high school athletics. Most of all, she cherished the joy of
watching her grandchildren grow — treasuring the simple moments that filled her heart with
pride and love.
Ann is survived by her devoted family, including her husband Jim “Shawnee” Nolen of Harvard,
children James (Traci) Nolen of Poplar Grove, IL along with their children Connor and Bryce
and Christopher (Keri) Nolen of Marengo, IL, and their children Cade, Cole and Caelan, sister
Rosemary (Larry) Martin of Harvard, along with a large, loving extended family on both the
Haverly and Nolen sides.
She was preceded in death by her parents Clarence and Janice Haverly and brothers Mike, Pat,
and Tim Haverly.
A celebration of her life will be held on August 28, 2025, from 4-7pm at the Harvard Moose
Lodge. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in Ann’s name to the
Harvard Moose Lodge.
