Alexis Antonio Fernandez

Alexis Antonio Fernandez, 24, of Capron, IL tragically lost his life as the result of a car accident on August 22, 2025, alongside his beloved girlfriend Marisol Barranco.

Alexis was born on April 3, 2001, in Elgin IL, the son of Oralia Garcia Diaz and Antonio Fernandez Barradas. 

He loved playing the guitar and singing alongside his brother Joshua Fernandez. He enjoyed playing soccer as the goalie, eating Panda Express, and playing his Xbox. He enjoyed watching anime. 

Alexis is survived by his parents Oralia and Antonio; his brother Joshua Fernandez; his sister-in-law Alondra Salazar who is expecting; and all of his friends, aunts, uncles, and cousins. 

Alexis was preceded in death by his grandmother Maria. 

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, from 2 until 8 PM at Saunders & McFarlin Funeral Home, 107 W. Sumner St., Harvard, IL 60033. Funeral service will be at 1 PM on Thursday, August 28, 2025, at Harvard First Baptist Church, 1102 4th St., Harvard, IL 60033. Alexis will be buried in Mexico at a future date following services.
