Adon M. Castañeda

Adon M. Castañeda, 40, of Woodstock, died May 21, 2024 at Northwestern Hospital in Chicago.

Adon was born July 19, 1983, in Woodstock to Adolfo Castañeda and Louann Schulten.

Adon was a gentle soul, known for being the best brother and the fun uncle. His smile could light up any room. He had a deep love for home-cooked Mexican meals and was always ready for a game of Spades or Call of Duty with the kids. Adon loved to dance, cherished time with his family, and was always up for a weekend road trip. His warmth, kindness, and boundless energy will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

 
Adon's departure leaves a void that can never be filled, but he will continue to live on in the hearts of his family and friends. We will always remember his kindness, his laughter, and the unconditional love he gave to everyone around him.

 
Rest in peace, dear Adon, until we meet again.

Survivors include his father Adolfo (Julia) Castañeda, son Adan Castañeda Jr., his better half Haley Garcia, siblings Sonja (Irving) Araoz, Mauricio (Emilia) Castañeda, Gisela (Scott) Dittner, Maria Castañeda, Marco (Yesenia) Castañeda, Elizabeth (Tyler) Jones, Ana (Raymundo) Ortiz, and Jeremy Hansen, and many, many nieces and nephews whom he loved very much.

He was preceded in death by his mother Louann Schulten and brother Miguel Hansen.

There will be a memorial gathering 4-8PM Thursday, May 30 at Saunders & McFarlin Funeral Home, 107 W. Sumner St., Harvard, IL 60033.
