Wayne Shotliff Obituary

Wayne A. Shotliff, 81, of Harvard passed away Sunday, April 23, 2017 at Mercy Harvard Hospital surrounded by his family.

He was born March 15, 1936 in Alden, IL to Fred and Grace (Kimball) Shotliff. Since he was raised on a farm he was very proud of being able to haul canned milk bottles for many years. In 1968, he started the one and only taxi business in Harvard which he ran for 10 years. He later worked at McHenry FS for 15 years and retired from Aubry Manufacturing in Union, IL.

Wayne married Clara Peretti on July 28, 1962 in Hebron, IL. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather. Wayne enjoyed fishing, gardening, collecting model tractors and reminiscing about old times.

Survivors include his wife Clara; children, Tom (Cathy) Comer, Debbie (Jeff) Sorensen, Frank Shotliff, Lisa (Steve) Walters; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, infant daughter, Theresa Lynn; and five siblings, Glen, William, Melvin, Harold and Dorothy Rice.

A memorial gathering will be held on Tuesday, May 2, 2017 from 9-11 am at Saunders & McFarlin Funeral Home, 107 W. Sumner St. Harvard, IL 60033.
Memorial services will follow at 11 am with Pastor Sarah Wilson officiating.
