Todd Richard Pihl passed away on September 30, 2018, at the age of 36. He was born on July 25, 1982, to Ray Pihl and Vicky (Lechner) Sickels in Rockford. He married Renee Perenchio on November 24, 2012, and on November 19, 2016, their son, Levi Charles Ray Pihl was born.
Todd graduated from Harvard High School in 2001. He attended Northern Illinois University. He worked construction until he was diagnosed with leukemia in 2005. With strength and courage, he beat cancer and started working for Pihl Farms. The leukemia returned in 2017. He had a successful stem cell transplant August 10, 2017, and celebrated his 1st rebirthday this year. He was an advocate for "Be The Match" which is a bone marrow transplant awareness program.
Todd enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing softball, doing anything with his hands, working on the farm, and helping others, but most of all he loved spending time with family. He was a member of the Northeast Cattleman's Association, and when he whistled his cattle would come running to him. Todd spent his summers playing softball and his winter watching the Bears and the University of Michigan football. Anyone who knew Todd would say that he had the biggest, kindest heart.
