Rozetta Clarke Obituary

Rozetta Mae “Rose” (Fraase) Clarke passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 while at Shepherd Premier Independent Living in Harvard, IL. Rose was born in Harvard on August 7, 1924, in the very same building she lived in at the time of her passing, which was the original Harvard Hospital. She lived in and contributed to Harvard her entire life.

On January 2, 1943, she married Francis D. “Fran” Clarke, who, after their wedding, he immediately reported to duty with the 5th Army in Europe where he remained overseas for almost 4 years.

Rose worked at Starline in the Executive Office for over 40 years ending her administrative assistant career with Erect-A-Tube in Harvard in their front office.

She loved her summer vacations in Three Lakes, WI and in their retirement years, she and Fran traveled to New Smyrna Beach, FL as proud ‘Snowbirds”.

Her survivors include sons Phil Clarke, of New Smyrna Beach, FL and Terry (Pat) Clarke of Fontana WI.  She leaves four grandchildren who always brought a smile to her:  Allison Keeran (Evan) of Mendon, OH; Kevin Clarke (Annie Kelly) of Evanston, IL; Kristin (Ken) Happl of Orlando FL; and Brian Clarke of Iowa City, IA. She also was blessed with four great-grandchildren: Emily and Drew Keeran and Tommy and Elijah Happl. Her brother, Edward Fraase of Woodstock, IL as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her beloved spouse, Fran in 1998, parents, Albert and Izetta Fraase; brothers Donald (Sylvia) Fraase and Cassius “Bud” (Anita) Fraase; and her daughter-in-law Vicki Lynn Clarke.

Her family would like to thank the staff and residents at Shepherd Premier Independent Living for making her final years as comfortable and caring as they did. Sweet dreams, Mom.

Interment will be at St. Joseph Cemetery in the family burial plot.
