Richard A. "Dick" Wilkinson

Richard A. “Dick” Wilkinson, 80, of Harvard, died July 31, 2018 at Rockford Memorial Hospital in Rockford, IL.

He was born Jan. 28, 1938 to William Lee and Ellen Marie (Rutledge) Wilkinson in Harvard.  On Sept. 25, 1965 he married Diane Margaret Campbell in Harvard. 

Richard had worked for Admiral, Bartlett Manufacturing, and the Harvard School District.  He was a member of the Harvard Moose Lodge #1289, and the Harvard Historical Society.  He enjoyed getting together with the guys and having coffee, going for drives, and tractors.  In the past, he was an umpire for the Harvard Boys League and enjoyed antiquing, auctions, and taking care of his home.

Survivors include his son: William “Bill” (Laura Pierce) Wilkinson of Harvard, brother: Edward Wilkinson of Indiana, sister: Patricia Wilkinson of Belvidere, some cousins, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife Diane on Oct. 25, 2010, his parents, brothers: Daniel Sr. and Charles Wilkinson, and sister-in-law: Patricia Wilkinson.

The visitation will be from 10 AM until the 11 AM funeral service Monday, Aug. 6 at Saunders & McFarlin Funeral Home, 107 W. Sumner St., Harvard, IL 60033.  Rev. Jeff Brace will officiate.  Interment will be at Dunham-Chemung Cemetery in Chemung, IL.
