Richard “Dick” Koch, Sr. passed away on Friday, August 3, 2018, at his home doing what he loved to do, working on his tractor.

Dad was born on January 22, 1940, to Roy and Ella (Runkle) Koch in Harvard, IL.

On July 22, 1960, he married Judy Martin, in Harvard, IL. They raised their 5 children on their farm Kathy (Roger), Kim (Per), Kelley (Dan), Karen (Chuck) and Richie (Laurie)

He was a proud Grandpa Dickie to Adam (Llisha), Emily (Miguel), Raquel, Luke (Jess), Jenna (Neal), Drake, Elle, Fallon, Alex, Maddie, Dakota, and Cheyenne (Hunter).

Dad loved his little great-grandchildren, Jackson, Levin, Ryelan, Faye, Kylie and 2 on the way.

He is also survived by his brother, Ed and Carol, nephew Scott of Minnesota, brother in laws, David Martin, Mike (Penny) Martin of Harvard, many nieces, and nephews along with many friends and extended family.

Dad graduated from Harvard High School in 1958 and was part of the Dan Horne Hittin' Hornets undefeated team of 1957.

He began working at Bowman Dairy the day he graduated and retired from Dean Foods.

Dad was a handyman, there was nothing our dad could not do, always helping his family and friends with whatever project they were doing.

Dad was an avid hunter, proud that his grandsons are following in his footsteps. He was a member of the Alden Fox Hunt Club beside his dad in the 50's and 60's. He enjoyed trap shooting at Darien Sporting Goods. Dad played softball around the area with the Harvard Men's League and the Farm Bureau. He loved to have a good time, visiting with friends, telling stories, going to the grandchildren and great grandchild’s events. Being with his family was most important to him.
