Marie Smith Obituary

Marie Smith, 92, of Harvard passed away on May 5, 2017 at JourneyCare Hospice in Barrington, IL.

She was born on March 10, 1925 in Capron, IL the daughter to the late David and Alice (Rose) McCullough. Marie married Alvian Warren Smith Sr., in June of 1944 in Belvidere, IL. He preceded her in death on May 24, 2010.

Survivors include her children, Irma Killoy, Judy (Larry) Ahrens, and Alvian (Nancy) Smith Jr; grandchildren, Lisa Ahrens, Kris Schumacher, David (Laura) Ahrens, Erin Smith and Steven Smith; 6 great-grandchildren, Ryan Schumacher, Hannah Ahrens, Emma Ahrens, Sean and Sara Schumacher and Luke Ahrens; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, spouse, three brothers, Robert, David and Raymond McCullough and grandson Scott Shumacher.

Visitation will be from 11-12 noon on Friday, May 12, 2017 at Saunders & McFarlin Funeral Home, 107 W. Sumner St. Harvard, IL 60033. Funeral services will follow at noon. Interment will be in Mt. Auburn Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Marie’s name to Pepper Family Hospice Care Center/ Journey Care, 405 Lake Zurich Road, Barrington, IL 60010.
