Lynn Rockcastle, 53, of Harvard passed away peacefully after a courageous battle for 16 years against cancer Wednesday, November 14, 2018, at her home, surrounded by her loving family, friends, and kitties.
Lynn was born January 12, 1965, in St. Petersburg, FL; the daughter of Ronald Drake and Nancy Brady Breazeale. Lynn worked as a Special Education Aid for the Harvard High School as well as manager at WMCW Radio in Harvard. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. Lynn enjoyed listening to all types of music from bluegrass to one of her favorite bands Megadeth. She had a deep passion and knowledge for genealogy and enjoyed helping others trace their history back as well as her own families. Lynn also enjoyed crafting things for the family such as quilts and cross-stitches. She was the appointed I.T. guy and family historian/photographer, the accountant, the animal caregiver and part-time caregiver for her grandson.
On September 27, 1987, Lynn married Curt Rockcastle in Long Grove, IL. They were married for 31 years.
Survivors include her loving husband Curt; children Nisi and William Rockcastle both of Harvard; grandson Arlo Rockcastle Hall; her mother Nancy Breazeale and one sister Teri Neal.
She was preceded in death by her father Ronald Drake, Aunt Rinda Bruce, and Grandmother Dorothy Cate.
Memorial visitation will be held from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm Sunday, November 25, 2018, at the First Presbyterian Church, 7100 Harvard Hills Road, Harvard, IL 60033. Memorial services will follow visitation at 3:00 pm with Pastor Claire Brennecka officiating with a luncheon after.
