Jeff Allen Peters

Jeffrey Allen Peters, 54, of Poplar Grove, passed away Wednesday, July 25, 2018, at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center in Rockford, IL.

He was born September 26, 1963, in Woodstock, IL to Robert and Ruby (Barry) Peters. He proudly served in the United States Army. Jeff worked for General Mills for many years.

On June 18, 2005, Jeff married Stacy Layman.

Jeff enjoyed fishing, golfing, hunting, but most of all spending time with friends and family. Jeff loved to have fun and had a great sense of humor. He will be dearly missed.

Survivors include his wife Stacy; children Jennifer (Mike Dray) Poliak, and Zachary Peters; three grandchildren Alexendria Poliak, Aubreana Silva, and Harmony Hobson; two brothers Jim (Marsha) Peters, Dan (Deb) Peters; father and mother-in-law Larry & Fran Layman; brothers and sisters-in-law Ruth (Mitch) Garman, Derek (Laura) Layman, Diane Pelayo, and Terry McEnaney.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Sue McEnaney; and brother-in-law Chad Layman.

A memorial gathering will be held from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, August 1, 2018, at Saunders & McFarlin Funeral Home, 107 W. Sumner St. Harvard, IL 60033. Memorial services will follow at 8:00 p.m.
