Mr. James H. “Jim” Leffelman, 79, of Benton, KY passed away Sunday, September 16, 2018, at Spring Creek Health Care in Murray, KY.
Born August 8, 1939, in Sycamore, IL, he was the son of the late Harold Leffelman and the late Cora Valentine (DeWitt) Leffelman. He was a retired Plumber from Plumbers Local 130 of Chicago, IL. After retirement, he and his wife Linnette moved to Kentucky in 1983 to 1996 owned and operated Jim and Linn’s Grocery in the community of Fairdealing, KY. Jim was also a Volunteer Deputy Fire Chief in Treasure Island, FL and also a Volunteer Deputy Chief in Midlothian, IL. He was a cattle farmer. Jim attended Olive United Methodist Church in the Olive Community.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Linnette C. (Driscoll) Leffelman of Benton, KY; two daughters, Cathy (Richard) Boer of Benton, KY and Christine (Mark) Holt of Benton, KY, brother, David (Sharlene) Leffelman of Apache Junction, AZ; sister, Carol (Tom) Martin of Chicago Ridge, IL; four grandchildren; Lindsay (Chad) Harper of Benton, KY, Erica (Tyler) Williamson of Benton, KY, Stefanie Boer of Nashville, TN and Clint Holt of Benton, KY; two great-grandchildren; Chloe Anderson and Rush Williamson also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Gene and George Leffelman.
Funeral services were held September 19, 2018, at the chapel of the Collier Funeral Home in Benton, KY. Interment was in the Anderson Family Cemetery in Benton, KY.
