Lynn E. Saunders, Owner & Director - Born and raised in
Harvard, Illinois, Lynn E. Saunders graduated from the University of
Illinois College of Pharmacy in 1971. That same year, he married
his wife Carol and began working as a Registered Pharmacist for
Richardson Pharmacy in Harvard. In 1981, Lynn decided to enter
the funeral profession and enrolled in mortuary school. He
graduated in 1983 from Worsham College of Mortuary Science,
and after a year of internship, became a licensed Funeral Director
and Embalmer in 1984. Along with his father L. Ben Saunders and
Kevin B. McFarlin, the firm of Saunders & McFarlin Funeral Home,
Ltd. was formed. Lynn continues to operate the funeral home today.

Besides his wife Carol, Lynn has a daughter Christine, a son
Michael, and his first grandchild born April 3, 2006: Adelynn;
Michael is currently working as a licensed funeral director and
embalmer at the funeral home.

Lynn is active in the Harvard Rotary Club, Trinity Lutheran Church,
and the Illinois and National Funeral Directors Association. He is
past president of the McHenry County Funeral Directors
Association, and he enjoys golf, bowling, and traveling.


Michael D. Saunders, Funeral Director - Born and raised in
Harvard, Illinois, Michael D. Saunders began his college career at
Tulsa University and then transferred to the University of Illinois. He
graduated from the University of Illinois in 1998 with a degree in
Actuarial Sciences, and began working in Chicago as a retirement
benefits counselor. Not long after, Michael decided to return to
school to enter the funeral profession; in 2000, he graduated from
Worsham College of Mortuary Science and is now a Licensed
Illinois and Wisconsin Funeral Director and Embalmer.

Michael is active in the Trinity Lutheran Church, the Harvard
Moose Lodge, and the Illinois and National Funeral Directors
Associations. He enjoys traveling, golf, bowling, and spending time
with his family.

Michael has a daughter, Adelynn,  that was born on April 3, 2006.
They currently reside in Harvard.


Matthew E. Cervantes, Funeral Director- Matt was born and
raised in the Quad Cities mainly on the Illinois side
around Moline.
He graduated from Rockridge High School in 2004 and then went
on to Mortuary School. Serving in the funeral profession has been
a life long dream for Matt and in 2006; he graduated from Carl
Sandburg College with his Associates degree in Mortuary Science.
Matt served his one year apprenticeship in Rockford, IL and
became a licensed funeral director and embalmer in 2007. He
moved home to work for a firm in the Quad Cities for a short while
.
On
February 1, 2010 he joined Saunders and McFarlin Funeral
Home in Harvard.
Matt currently holds memberships with the
McHenry Co. Funeral Directors Association, The Illinois Funeral
Directors Association, and the American Society of Embalmers.


Matt met his wife Brittany
, in Galesburg, while attending college.  
On October 14, 2008
, they had a son; Brayden Matthew
Cervantes. Matt enjoys music, outdoor activities and spending lots
of time with his family and friends.
He is committed to serving
families in the Harvard community and helping those in a time of
need.




Jerry Robson, Staff Assistant - Jerry Ray Robson was born in
1942 in Harrisburg, Illinois. In 1956, he moved to Harvard, Illinois
and began high school; after graduating in 1960, he attended
Electronic Machine Accounting College and graduated in 1961.
Jerry has had a lot of training in electronics and ran his own
business for many years.

Jerry and his wife Kathleen (a schoolteacher) have two daughters,
Stephanie (a lawyer) and Amy (a schoolteacher). He has worked
for Saunders & McFarlin Funeral Home since 1989. Jerry is a
member of the First United Methodist Church and the Harvard
Moose Lodge.
